The student union METKA has opened a search for a student representative on the Board of Metropolia University of Applied Sciences. The Board is the highest governing body of Metropolia’s operations and its student member is the highest of the student representative positions chosen by METKA.

The application is open to all Metropolia degree students from 10 March to 31 March 2020. The application form is open on the METKA website at METKA wishes for applications from a wide range of different degrees and annual courses.The applicant does not need to be registered as present.

METKA elects its Student Representative candidate to the Board at its Student Parliament meeting on April 8, 2020. Applicants will be interviewed at the meeting that will likely be held remotely due to the coronavirus. Officially, the student member of the Board will be elected to the position at the Metropolia University of Applied Sciences General Meeting in late May.

Metropolia’s Board exercises supreme authority over the strategy, finances, organization and regulations of the University of Applied Sciences. The Board also decides on the number of students and strategic issues related to studies within the limits of legislation. In addition, the Board is responsible for the Board’s duties under the Companies Act. The Student Representative acts as a full and responsible member of the Board. There is a compensation for the role.
