Student as a Social Active -course

Student as a Social Active courses can be used to form a small minor (15 ECTS). The courses are meant to help and support the students participating in the work of student associations and the student union. In conjunction with the completion of the courses, the student’s skills will advance from handling the basics of student association activities towards more challenging tasks.

The courses last for a year and the completion of them requires some independent tasks and participation in training organized by the student union. If you have any questions regarding the courses, please contact the persons listed below.

The translations for the courses are not yet complete and as soon as they are available, they will be added to the study guide. We apologize for the inconvenience. The courses are however open to everybody regardless of their mother tongue and all required coursework can be completed in English.

You can choose the following courses:

  • Student as a Social Active 1, 5 ECTS (XX00BG68)
    After completing the course, the student understands the basics of student unions’ and student associations’ activities.
  • Student as a Social Active 2, 5 ECTS (XX00BG69)
    After completing the course, the student is familiar with the operational environment of student unions and student associations in Finnish universities of applied sciences and is capable of applying their understanding independently, even in challenging tasks.
  • Student as a Social Active 3, 5 ECTS (XX00BG70)
    After completing the course, the student is familiar with the operational environment of student associations in Finland and is capable of developing NGO’s at a strategic level.

The courses consist of a starting info, assignments and reflection conversations that aim to improve the student’s knowledge and self-learning.
