METKA is looking for a student representative for the board of Metropolia. Students are represented in the board among the staff representative and the representatives of the owner municipalities of Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa.

The Board decides, among other things, on the main operational and economical objectives, the strategy, the operational and financial plans and the budget, can elect and dismiss the rector and approves the rules of Metropolia. Working in the board requires the ability to familiarize matters that are very wide-ranging, negotiation skills, and willingness to raise the student’s point of view in discussions and decision-making. The working language of the Board is Finnish. The Board meets about once a month.

All students present and absent from Metropolia are eligible for election, that is, they can apply for a seat. The application period to apply is 26.3. – 8.4.2018. The selection criteria include the knowledge and skills appropriate to the task, past experience of similar tasks, activity and commitment to the task. The student representative’s term of office is from May 2018 to May 2019.

The Student Parliament of METKA decides on the representative at its meeting on 17 April 2018. The meeting will start at 17.00. The applicants have the right to present themselves at the meeting and they are also encouraged to do so. The selection will be announced to the applicants by e-mail the following day.
