Are you interested in tutoring activities? Would you like to use your expertise to help other students progress with difficult courses, thesises or exams? Do you prefer to study in a group rather than alone? Join us to become a study tutor!
We are looking for study tutors who are enthusiastic about their field to lead study groups on Metropolia’s campuses. The study tutor supports other students in the challenges related to their studies and helps them progress in the areas of their studies in which they themselves have experience. The study tutor organizes regular study circles, where difficult or unclear issues can be reviewed together in a group. Even difficult courses are not left hanging when peer support is available!
How do you become a study tutor?
All students interested in leading study groups can participate in the study tutor training, no previous tutoring experience is required. You can also participate in the training with a friend, in which case you can run study circles as a couple.
Training for study tutors will take place on the Myllypuro campus on Wednesday 30 November. from 17:00 to 19:00 in room MPB4004. Sign up by Monday 28 November 2022 from this link.
The participants get to develop their own version of the study circles. In the training, one’s own role as a group leader is outlined as well as a specific form and schedule for the activity. The training is held in Finnish. Snacks are available.
The study tutor who has completed the training undertakes to conduct study groups regularly about 6 times during the spring semester 2023. As a reward, the study tutors receive 5 credits for being an active student and a work certificate. In addition, a joint spring meeting will be organized for all study tutors in the spring of 2023 with relaxed hanging out and food.
