Linda Lindgren has been elected to METKA’s Executive Director. Lindgren will start as an Executive Director on Monday, September 1st.
Lindgren has extensive experience in student advocacy and the structures of the higher education sector. She has worked for three years at Laureamko as an advocacy specialist, and both the decision-making processes of the university of applied sciences and the activities of the student union are already familiar to her.
Lindgren’s background as Chairperson of METKA’s Board in 2019 provides valuable insight into the organizations of Metropolia and METKA. In addition, she has studied strategic leadership and has had the opportunity to apply what she learned in practice in her specialist role at Laureamko.
In the union field, Lindgren has worked as a student activity coordinator at Talentia and served as the Chair of Talentia’s Social Work Students’ Association, further strengthening her expertise in student advocacy and organizational activities.
Lindgren holds a degree in social services. She is currently deepening her expertise through Modern Leadership studies at the master’s level at LAB University of Applied Sciences, which supports her role as Executive Director.
“It’s truly exciting to return to the roots of my own organizational career at METKA! My year as chair was quite some time ago, and my work as an advocacy specialist at Laureamko has provided the right distance from METKA’s activities. Now I get to look at the operations from a new perspective. I look forward to the future and to what we will achieve together as METKA!”
