What is Week of Wappu?
Week of Wappu is the most important celebration for students, organised by METKA and carried out together with student associations! Despite its name, Wiikon Wappu/Week of Wappu does not last just one week, this time it spans a record-breaking five weeks! In total, Wiikon Wappu/Week of Wappu includes 23 events, from which you can choose your favourites.
What is a Wappupass, and how does it work?
The Wappupass works in the same way as an appropass. However, instead of collecting stamps from drinks, you collect them via events you attend. The Wappupass costs 8 euros for METKA members and 16 euros for others. It does not grant entry to events on its own, but with the Wappupass you can always purchase tickets at a discounted price.
In addition to events organised by Metropolia’s student associations, you can also attend events by Laureamko, Helga, O’Diako, and HUMAKO and collect stamps from their events as well!
Wappupasses go on sale on March 10 at 12 noon in Kide.app!
Can I get a patch from Week of Wappu?
Yes, several! Those who attend a sufficient number of events will receive a fantastic WappuGuru patch. The most dedicated Wappu celebrators will also receive a special patch. To earn this patch, you will need to partake in 15 events.
METKA also sells Wappu26 patches throughout the entire Week of Wappu at all events, and you do not need to own a WappuPass or attend multiple events to acquire one.
In addition, almost every Week of Wappu event has its own event-specific patch available.
I have a METKA WappuPass, but I didn’t get a stamp. Can I get it later?
If you missed out on a stamp at an event, you can collect it at another Wiikon Wappu/Week of Wappu event. To receive the stamp, you will need to show your used event ticket or the event’s patch.
Where can I get the WappuGuru patch?
WappuGuru patches will be handed out during METKA’s Wappu Eve (30 April) and Wappu Day (1 May). All you need to do is find METKA’s tent, show your WappuPass with at least seven (7) stamps, and the patch is yours.
I can’t collect my patch on Wappu Eve or Wappu Day. Can I get it later?
After Wappu, METKA will deliver the WappuGuru patches to all campuses, where they can be collected during M-Piste opening hours. Alternatively, you can give your WappuPass to a friend, and they can collect the patch on your behalf.
I lost my Wappupass. What should I do?
WappuPasses are available in limited quantities, so please take good care of yours. However, if your WappuPass happens to disappear in the middle of the Wappu festivities, please contact us by email, or alternatively, feel free to come find us at one of the events.
Can I get stamps for my Wappupass on Wappu Eve and Wappu Day?
Yes! You can collect stamps by participating in METKA’s free Wappu Eve and Wappu Day events.
Where and when can I collect my Wappupass?
The first chance to collect your Wappupass is during the first Week of Wappu event on 1.4.2026 (Wappukuntoon). METKA hands out passes during all Week of Wappu events. Reminder, you cannot collect METKA’s pass at other student union (Laureamko, O’Diako, Helga, HUMAKO) events, nor METKA hands out other unions Wappupasses during Week of Wappu events.
Why can’t I buy a Wappupass at the membership price?
Is your membership valid and active in Kide.app? If so, do be in contact with METKA’s Membership Services (jasenpalvelut@metkaweb.fi) so we can figure out the issue, and fix it!
What happens on Wappu Eve?
We gather at Sinebrychoff Park. METKA has ordered sun for the whole day, so you can enjoy a picnic with some bubbly, streamers and doughnuts. METKA’s official event only lasts a few hours, but the park doesn’t quiet down until late in the evening, if at all! During Wappu Eve, you can partake in METKA’s and other student associations programs. More info about Wappu Eve will be coming soon.
I didn’t get a ticket for the event I wanted. What should I do?
Unfortunately most events have a limited number of tickets. During Week of Wappu there are numerous free events (and other events to choose from other student unions). In other words, you won’t miss out on completing your Wappupass just because you couldn’t get tickets to every event.
Who gives out stamps for the Wappupass?
From METKA. You can recognize a METKA representative by their black and orange jacket. If you are attending Laureamko’s, Helga’s, O’Diako’s or HUMAKO’s Wappu events, you can get a stamp from their representatives.
When do ticket sales for events start?
The ticket sale starts on 10.3.2026 at the earliest, after Wappupasses go on sale. Each event organiser is responsible for their own ticket sales schedule, ticket pricing, and ticket capacity.
Can I participate in the Tutor Olympics even if I’m not a tutor?
Of course! Spectator tickets will be sold for the Tutor Olympics. By showing your ticket, it will grant you a stamp for your Wappupass. After that, you can then cheer your tutors on to victory!
Do Wappu events sell out quickly?
Some events sell out very quickly. These are usually events that have a smaller capacity, such as METKA’s Wappusitz.
