Has your friend been doing outstanding work in the student field during the past year or has an event been so memorable that you will always remember it?
Now is your chance to call out these outstanding people and experiences by giving your proposition of honours to them. The last day for propositions is 25.1.2026 at 11.55 P.M.. The receivers for the Recognitions and Badges of Honour will be announced at METKA’s annual cocktail party 14.3.2026 (Save the date!)
You can suggest the recipients in the following categories:
- Golden medal
- Silver medal
- Student association of the year 2025
- Teacher of the year 2025
- Staff member of the year 2025
- Active student of the year 2025
- Advocate of student rights of the year 2025
- Tutor of the year 2025
- Head tutor of the year 2025
- Event of the year 2025
- The Phenomenon of 2025
Silver Badge of Merit
The Silver Badge of Merit may be awarded to an individual or a community whose actions or contributions have advanced METKA’s activities.
The badge has to be applied for in writing to the Board. The application must include the recipient’s information and a brief explanation of their actions or significant contributions supporting METKA’s activities.
If a person who has been awarded the badge acts in a manner detrimental to the student union, or if it is discovered that the merits on which the badge was awarded are not genuine or otherwise insufficient, the Representative Council may decide to revoke the badge.
The decision to award the Silver Badge of Merit shall be made by the Representative Council of METKA.
Golden Badge of Merit
The Golden Badge of Merit may be awarded to an individual whose actions or exceptionally significant contributions have substantially advanced METKA’s activities.
The badge has to be applied for in writing to the Board. The application must include the recipient’s information and a brief explanation of their actions or exceptionally significant contributions supporting METKA’s activities.
If a person who has been awarded the badge acts in a manner detrimental to the student union, or if it is discovered that the merits on which the badge was awarded are not genuine or otherwise insufficient, the Representative Council may decide to revoke the badge.
The decision to award the Golden Badge of Merit shall be made by the Representative Council of METKA.
Honorary Certificate
The student union awards an Honorary Certificate to meritorious individuals or communities.
The Honorary Certificate shall be awarded by the Representative Council of the student union to an individual or a community that has promoted the activities of the student union and/or has played a significant role in development of the student union’s activities
The Honorary Certificate shall, where possible, be presented at an anniversary celebration or another occasion deemed appropriate.
