Metropolia UAS is the biggest university of applied sciences in Finland, with almost 18 000 students. To be able to be and advocate everywhere it is needed, METKA sells memberships to fund the daily work.
An essential part of membership is member services. The Member Services sector responds to members’ contacts, activates Zone’s services for the member, and, for example, maps and acquires membership benefits to make it financially attractive to become a member!
METKA’s merch is also part of member services, and from time to time the member service sector has to go through a big pile of receipts from overall patch sales. Fun and easy! METKA has several different types of overall patches, the association sash and lanyard for sale. Welcome to M-piste service points, stands and METKA’s events to do some shopping!
M-piste service points
M-piste is found on every campus. At M-piste service points, you can take care of all your membership needs, buy patches or just say hello to the board members. The opening hours of M-piste service points are announced on METKA’s social media channels.

Prices
The prices for membership periods are decided by METKA’s Representative Council. The prices for the academic year are decided at the Spring Assembly before the beginning of the academic year. These are the current prices:

Student cards
METKA has practically three digital student cards: Kide.app, Tuudo and Slice. All serve in slightly different ways. Kide.app is the shop where you buy your membership. Kide.app is also where all the tickets for student events are sold. Tuudo provides both the student ID, which is available to all students, and METKA membership card. Slice, on the other hand, is a company that offers student benefits. You’ll have access to Slice card only if you are a member of the student union. METKA does not offer physical student cards.
Please note that your digital student card will stop working as soon as you graduate! The membership fee is non-refundable if the conditions for membership are still met. Unused membership fees can only be refunded if the student is no longer studying at Metropolia, i.e. has either left the UAS or graduated. The fee will not be refunded if a student graduates or leaves UAS in the middle of a semester. We charge a processing fee of five (5) euros for all refunds of membership fees.
Become a member!
Memberships are sold in Kide.app. Check that you meet these conditions:
- You have a study right in Metropolia University of Applied Sciences
- You are a degree student (this includes exchange students) or completing a full first year of studies in the Open UAS
- You have registered as an attending student
Pay the membership fee to become a METKA Member. New students can become members as soon as the study right begins.
So what you need to do?
- Go to Kide.app
- If you do not already have a Kide.app account, please create one. If you already have an account, you do not need to create a new one to become a METKA member.
- Choose the membership period.
- Add the product to your shopping cart and select online banking, payment card or Mobilepay as payment method.
- Tada! You are now a METKA member
- Zone sports services work on a different system, so you need to activate your sports season separately. Luckily, this is easy to do by e-mail: jasenpalvelut@metkaweb.fi
- Before sending a message please go to Zonesports.fi to create your Zone account.
Cheaper event tickets
METKA Members get tickets for METKA’s events always half the price! We also collaborate with other student unions and they offer their events to you half the price as well. All event tickets are sold in Kide.app online store. Download Kide.app on

Paying the membership fee does not leave you empty-handed. We want to make sure you get a good value out of your membership fee as well. Slice offers hundreds, if not thousands of benefits for students. As a METKA member you’ll also get access to Zone Sport Services. You can attend Zone’s instructed classes, go to gyms and play ball sports by joining METKA.
