METKA is looking for an International Affairs and Community Expert to maintain and develop the guidance of METKA’s international students in its inspiring and flexible working environment.

What is the mission about?

Our aim is to support international higher education students to integrate and stay in Finland. The main instrument is the tutoring of exchange students and international degree programme students, which you will take over. You will plan, develop and implement both the training and the actual activities in cooperation with other METKA actors.

You will be taking the lead in developing tutoring activities to support the community spirit of higher education students and to help them find their own path. You want to be part of creating a higher education institution that encourages students to be international, to network and to find their own direction.

We require:

  • Relevant higher education studies
  • Experience in group guiding, e.g. tutoring
  • Experience of working in an international environment
  • Good social and communication skills
  • Good spoken and written skills in Finnish and English

We would consider it an advantage:

  • Knowledge of the organizational sector and/or student organization field
  • Understanding of multicultural environment and how to work in it
  • Good networking and networking skills

The position is full-time (37.5 h/week) and temporary due to parental leave for the period 3.6.2024-6.6.2025. The salary and conditions of employment are determined according to the Collective Agreement of the Student Unions of Universities of Applied Sciences salary category 3, so the starting salary is 2172,38 € per month. The level of education and previous experience of the successful candidate will influence the salary as defined in the collective agreement.
