Hey, active, enthusiastic, and inspiring tutor! Welcome to apply to be a Head Tutor for 2026 and become part of the next generation of Head Tutors. We will be selecting peer and exchange Head Tutors as well as TopUp and Tokasa Head Tutors for Myllypuro. To be eligible, you must have been a tutor for at least one semester. For example, if you were a tutor in the fall of 2025 or earlier, you are eligible to apply. The Head Tutoring term lasts for one year, starting at the beginning of 2026 and ending at the end of that year. New tutors will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the activities under the guidance of current Head Tutors during the fall semester.
As a Head Tutor, you will have the opportunity to develop your team leadership skills as the leader of your campus’s tutor team. Head Tutors support tutors and coordinate the practical implementation of tutoring. METKA’s tutor team, in turn, supports the Head Tutors throughout the year. During your term as a Head Tutor, you will develop your organizational and collaboration skills, as well as many other qualities that will serve you well in your future career. We can promise you an unforgettable year of tutoring from a completely new perspective. As with tutoring, you can earn 5 credits for being a Head Tutor, but it is better to do it for the love of the job rather than for the credits.
So, are you a tutor who is truly enthusiastic about tutoring and thinks it’s been a great experience? Are you a good person with plenty of enthusiasm and motivation? Do you want to be involved in developing tutoring to make it even better?
If the answer is yes, apply to be METKA’s new Head Tutor for 2026 from this link.
METKA organises three training sessions for the new Head Tutors: 7th of Oct., Tuesday at 17-20, 9th of Oct., Thursday at 17-20 and 11th of Oct., Saturday at 8.30-16.
It is likely to be an unforgettable year, as one former Head Tutor sums it up:
“Thank you for the laughter, thank you for the breakdowns, thank you for the tears, thank you for the nights that never ended and thank you for the mornings that never began. Thank you for everything.”
