METKA appoints several dozen student representatives each year. The application period for next year’s student representative of the degree program advisory council is now open! We’ll also complete Metropolia’s governmental bodies.

The advisory councils are bodies made up of staff and representatives of working life. The purpose of these councils is to develop the relevance and quality of education for working life. The student representative acts as a link between students and staff. They bring out the views and needs of students in Metropolia’s decision-making. Curriculum changes are also discussed in the advisory councils. The term is one calendar year.

The Legal Protection Committee deals with students’ legal protection and disciplinary issues on a case-by-case basis and makes a decision proposal to the principal. The term is two calendar years.

The Board of Examiners handles the rectification appeals related to the evaluation of studies and recognition of prior learning. The term is two calendar years.

Interested? Apply by November 30th. Most of the tasks require fluent Finnish, but you can apply to those advisory councils that represents English-speaking degree programs. More information from this link.
