Student union METKA will put a new member register into use. The new register is a collaborative register with student unions Laureamko, Helga, ASK, HUMAKO, O’Diako, JAMKO and TUO, all of which currently use the register.

With the change, the goal is to improve and expand member services and thus increase value for the membership. After the register is put to use, METKA members may have the same service they get in M-piste by visiting the offices of other student unions mentioned above.

The data protection is highly emphasized. Due to the collective service model, the member information will become visible for all student unions in the register. The users will have a training how to use the system, and they sign a contract concerning data protection. In addition, the amount of visible personal details will be restricted for most users and only two people from each student union, usually employees, will see full information.

No data will be given outside the student unions that use the register. The personal details of the members will be removed from the register 13 months after the latest membership has expired.

The current member data will be transferred to the new register in the near future. As a member, you have right to refuse the transfer of your data. By denying the transfer, your membership will end.

METKA will inform members in their website about the exact date of the data transfer when the date is confirmed.
