METKA has elected its representatives to the delegation for the Foundation for Student Housing in the Helsinki Region (Hoas). At the METKA board meeting on Mon 9 November 2020, representatives were supplemented and, together with other student unions in the Helsinki metropolitan area, METKA appointed its representatives to Hoas Board of Directors and the Housing Co-operation Body.
The representatives’ term of office in the Hoas Delegation is two years (2020-2021) and in the Housing Co-operation Body one year (2021).

Matti has previously worked as an Advocacy Specialist in METKA. Today, he works elsewhere and serves as a joint student representative on the Hoas board.

The Foundation for Student Housing in the Helsinki Region (Hoas) is a non-profit foundation, founded to relieve the shortage of student housing in the capital area. Hoas works in cooperation with the student unions of the University of Helsinki and Aalto University, as well as 10 other university and polytechnic student unions.
Hoas has over 9800 apartments and nearly 19000 tenants. International students represent 150 different nationalities. The average rent is 12,70 euros per square meter. Hoas has a revenue of 73 million euros and there are almost 70 persons working permanently in the office.
The delegation is a governing body of the foundation, which can appoint up to three members to the foundation’s board of directors and choose at least one auditor to audit the foundation’s administration and accounts for the following year.
