Apply to be a student representative by Wednesday 30th November 2022! The student representative acts as the student’s voice in Metropolia. As a student representative, you do not need previous experience, because METKA trains all student representatives in January-February! As a student representative, you do not have to commit to other METKA activities, and you do not have to be a member of METKA. It is possible to apply for credits for the activity.
In the advisory council, you act as a link between the students of your degree and the staff, as well as working life. You can influence e.g. the curriculum of your degree, and discuss whether the degree meets the requirements of working life. The advisory councils meet 1-4 times a year, so this suits also a busier student!
If you are interested in representing the student’s voice at the entire Metropolia level, apply to the governmental bodies! The Legal Protection Committee deals with students’ legal protection and disciplinary issues on a case-by-case basis. The Board of Examiners handles the rectification appeals and suspected frauds. These bodies meet a little more often, on average once a month. Depending on the number and quality of the cases, the meetings last from 15 min to a few hours.
