The Board of Metropolia University of Applied Sciences Ltd
The Board of Metropolia University of Applied Sciences Ltd exercises the highest decision-making authority in matters related to the university’s strategy, finances, organization, and rules of procedure. The Board also decides, within the limits of the law, on student enrollment numbers and strategic issues related to studies. In addition, the Board is responsible for the duties assigned to the Board under the Limited Liability Companies Act. The student representative serves as a full member of the Board. A fee is paid for this position. The working language of the Board is Finnish.
U!REKA Student Council
METKA is looking for a Metropolia student representative for the international U!REKA Alliance Student Council. Two representatives will be selected for the role: one primary member and one deputy member.
U!REKA is a European higher education network that promotes urban research, education, and innovation. Metropolia acts as the main coordinator of the alliance, and the network includes 30 partners, comprising both universities and other collaborating organisations. As a student representative, you will have the opportunity to participate in the network’s activities, influence matters internationally, and develop collaboration between different European universities.
We are looking for a motivated student who is interested in international collaboration and wants to represent Metropolia students in U!REKA. Good English skills and an interest in international projects are considered an advantage.
How to apply
The application period is from March 13, 2026, at 15:00 to March 27, 2026, at 15:00.
To apply for both of the positions, complete the online form during the application period. Please note that the same form is used to apply for other student representative positions as well, so fill out your application carefully.
The application must include the applicant’s name, student number, degree program, phone number, and email address. The application must also include a free-form personal statement, where the applicant can, for example, introduce themselves, describe their skills and experience, or explain their motivation for applying for the student representative position.
METKA encourages students from a variety of degree programs and study years to apply. Eligible applicants are students of Metropolia University of Applied Sciences. Membership in the student union is not required to serve as a student representative. Students who are on leave of absence may also serve as a student representative.
METKA’s Representative Council will make the decision on the selected student representative at its meeting following the end of the application period. Applicants will be invited for an interview at the meeting on March 31, 2026.
