The Student Union of Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, METKA, has decided in its representative council meeting to nominate Justus Kalliokoski as the chairperson of the National Union of Students in Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences – SAMOK for the year 2026.
Justus currently serves as the chairperson of METKA’s board. He has a long background in the student movement and has worked to advance students’ rights, including through the Tehy student association, where he has held the positions of secretary and chairperson. He also has experience from METKA’s representative council and several years of active involvement in student associations.
Originally from Vaasa, Justus studies assistive technology at Metropolia in Helsinki. He has a strong understanding of the everyday life of social and health care students as well as of national-level advocacy. He aims to build a more impactful and accessible student movement, where every voice is heard – regardless of field of study, background, or university of applied sciences.
The Board will be elected at the SAMOK General Assembly 30.-31.10.2025 in Seinäjoki.
