The highest decision-making power in the student union is exercised by the representative council. The representative council consists of 25 regular members and a maximum of 25 deputy members, who are elected annually in representative council elections. All members of the student union who have paid their membership fees and whose membership has been entered in the student union’s membership register by 11:59 a.m. on October 27, 2025, are eligible to vote in the elections.

The Representative Council has decision-making power over finances, strategy, and the action plan, as well as significant decisions in the student union’s annual activities. The decisions of the Representative Council are implemented by the METKA Board, which is elected by the Representative Council for one calendar year at a time. The board also reports to the Representative Council on the practical implementation of the action plan, budget, and strategy. METKA also has hired experts to support the work of the Representative Council and the board.

So, run for the METKA Representative Council elections by October 7, 2025, at 11:59 a.m. All Metropolia students who are members of METKA and have paid their membership fees by October 7, 2025, at 11:59 a.m. are eligible to run.

Candidates may also form electoral alliances. If you cannot find a suitable electoral alliance among those already established, you can form one yourself! At least two people are required to form an alliance. For example, several student associations form their own lists every year.

Run for election!
