Metropolia UAS Student Union METKA opens the application period for METKA’s Electoral Committee. The Electoral Committee is responsible for organizing METKA’s Representative Council Elections. The Elections in 2026 will elect representatives to METKA’s Representative Council for the term 2027.
The Electoral Committee will be appointed at the next meeting of the Representative Council. The Electoral Committee consists of the Chairperson, 2-10 members and a Secretary appointed by the Board of METKA.
The elections and the functioning of the Electoral Committee are governed by Chapter 3 of METKA’s Administrative Rules. Unfortunately METKA’s Administrative Rules are only available in Finnish.
The election of the members of the METKA Representative Council takes place in the elections. The METKA Representative Council consists of fifteen to twenty-five (15-25) full members and up to the same number of vice members. The Representative Council exercises the supreme decision-making power of the student body. It decides on the activities of the Student Union in accordance with the Student Union’s statutes.
Application period
The application period is open from February 3rd until February 8th at 11.59 p.m.
Submission of applications
To apply for the Electoral Committee, please use this form. The application must include the applicant’s name, student number, student union membership, telephone number and e-mail address. The application should also include a free text in which the applicant can introduce themselves, and describe their skills and experience or motivation for the position in question.
Eligibility to apply
The members of the Electoral Committee must be full members of the Student Union. Members of the Electoral Committee may stand as a candidate in the Representative Council Elections. The Chairperson of the Electoral Committee may not stand as a candidate in the elections.
Selection of the Electoral Committee
The METKA Representative Council will decide on the nomination of the Electoral Committee at its next meeting. Applicants are welcome to come and introduce themselves in the meeting.
