Each year METKA awards Metropolia students and staff members of commendable work. The recipients are decided by METKA’s Student Parliament, but everyone in Metropolia can propose the recipients by filling out a METKA’s questionnaire.

Silver medal: Nelli Pihlasviita
Silver medal can be awarded to a person or community who has advanced METKA’s activities with their actions or a significant deed.
Staff Member of the Year: Ulla Forsström
Staff member actively co-operates with students and promotes methods that take into account the students’ point of view.
Teacher of the year: Hannu Turunen
A teacher that actively co-operates with students and promotes methods that take into account the students’ point of view.
Student advocacy of the year: Olli Eerikäinen
Person or a community that is actively working for advocating student rights.
Tutor of the year: Laura Kangas-Riikonen
Tutor who is actively working for communality in Metropolia.
Head tutor of the year: Nicole Ojala
Tutor who is actively working for communality in Metropolia.
Most active student of the year: Aaro Yli-Öyrä
Student is active at organizing events for students, activating them and advocating their rights.
The phenomenon of the year: Moving to Karamalmi
The most memorable moment of 2020.
Event of the year: Rypälejooga (Grape Yoga)
Event which is extraordinarily well organized, served the community or has been otherwise memorable.
